New Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) workshops for non-profit leaders in Hamilton

DiverseCity onBoard Hamilton at the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion has collaborated with Regional Diversity Roundtable (RDR) to implement a series of workshops on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) for leaders in the not-for-profit sector. The sessions equip leaders in not-for-profit organizations with the skills and tools to examine the state of diversity, equity, and inclusion in their organizations, identify gaps in policies, programs, and practices, and develop mechanisms to address identified problem areas while also strengthening any already existing organizational structures that help advance DEI.

The first session was held on June 28, 2017, with over 25 executive directors, board members, and HR managers from not-for-profit organizations and public institutions, including the City of Hamilton and McMaster University.

These workshops are part of a 15-month project under the Building Inclusive Leaders stream funded by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI). The program will also build a community of inclusive leaders from five regions: Peel, Halton, Hamilton, Wentworth, and Durham.
